Privacy Policy
Last updated: 5 June 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Saltwater Digital Limited (“Settld”, “we”, “us”), a company registered in England & Wales (company no. 16616025), with its registered office at 42 East Street, First Floor Offices, Newquay, England, TR7 1BE, collects, uses and protects personal data when you use the Settld mobile app and website at getsettld.uk (the “Service”). Settld is a product of Saltwater Digital Limited. We are the data controller for this data under the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.
Questions or requests: privacy@getsettld.uk.
1. Who this applies to
This policy covers TikTok Shop sellers who create a Settld account and connect their shop, and visitors to our website. Settld is for business users; the data we process is the seller's own business and transaction data.
2. Data we collect
Account data
- Name, email address and authentication identifiers.
- Billing details, if you subscribe to a paid plan (handled by our payment processor; we do not store full card numbers).
TikTok Shop data (with your authorisation)
When you connect your TikTok Shop, you authorise Settld to access the following via TikTok Shop's official APIs, on a read-only basis, so we can calculate your true profit:
- Orders — order and line-item details, quantities and revenue.
- Finance & settlement — settlement statements, payouts, platform fees, payment-processing fees, adjusted shipping fees and refund admin fees.
- Products — your SKU and listing information, to map your costs.
- Affiliate — creator commissions and clawbacks tied to your orders.
We request the minimum scopes needed for profit reconciliation. We do not access your customers' personal contact details for marketing, and we never write to, modify or place orders in your shop.
Data you enter
- Cost of goods (COGS) per SKU and manual ad-spend figures you add.
Usage & device data
- Basic app and device analytics and error logs to keep the Service reliable.
3. How we use your data
- To reconcile your orders to your actual payout and calculate your net profit.
- To provide reporting, the leak finder, and daily summaries.
- To operate, secure, support and improve the Service.
- To handle billing for paid plans.
- To send service communications, and (with your consent) product updates.
4. Lawful bases
We rely on performance of a contract (to provide the Service you sign up for), our legitimate interests (to secure and improve the Service), consent (for optional marketing), and legal obligation (for tax and accounting records) as applicable.
5. Data retention — and why we keep it longer than TikTok
TikTok Shop typically retains only around 180 days of settlement history. Because fees, refunds and affiliate clawbacks can settle weeks after an order, and because sellers need an accurate long-term record, Settld stores your transaction and settlement history for the life of your account so your profit figures remain complete and auditable. You can delete this at any time (see section 8). When you close your account we delete or anonymise your data within 30 days, except where we must retain limited records to meet legal obligations.
6. How we share data
We do not sell your data. We share it only with service providers who process it on our behalf under contract, including:
- Supabase — database and authentication hosting (EU region, Frankfurt).
- Vercel — website and API hosting.
- A payment processor, for paid subscriptions.
- Error-monitoring and analytics providers (e.g. Sentry, Frankfurt).
We may disclose data where required by law. If any provider processes data outside the UK, we put appropriate safeguards (such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement) in place.
7. Security
- Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest.
- Your TikTok access tokens are stored server-side and never embedded in the mobile app.
- Access to production data is restricted on a least-privilege basis.
8. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Delete your data (“right to be forgotten”).
- Disconnect your TikTok Shop at any time, which stops further data access.
- Object to or restrict certain processing, and request portability.
To exercise any of these, email privacy@getsettld.uk. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
9. Disconnecting and deleting
You can revoke Settld's access from within the app or from your TikTok Shop settings at any time. Revoking access stops all further data collection. To delete the data we have already stored, use the in-app delete option or email us.
10. Children
The Service is for businesses and is not directed at anyone under 18.
11. Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be notified in-app or by email, and the “last updated” date above will change.
